On Saturday morning, 22 December, we’ll be cleaning up Hamadryad Park. As ever, there’ll be plenty to do.
Meet: Under the flyover, at the entrance to Hamadryad Park
Parking: Cardiff Yacht Club, Windsor Esplanade CF10 5BG
A large area of reeds on the water’s edge has recently been cut, revealing an appalling amount of rubbish that’s been washed down the Taff over the past months (and probably years), so we’ll be removing that.
Please wear wellies for doing this bit, as it will be wet and muddy. If you have waders, even better! (We’ll have a few pairs available.)
For those who prefer to stay on drier and more solid ground, we’ll do a general litter-pick of the park, to help keep it looking its best.
Cardiff Yacht Club is kindly letting us use their car park, which is at the end of Windsor Esplanade, CF10 5BG — see map below. (If the gate is closed, use the intercom on the right-hand side and say you’re with Cardiff Rivers Group). Once you’ve parked, just walk out of the car park and turn left, down into Hamadryad Park, where we’ll meet under the flyover.
The Yacht Club has also said we’re welcome to go up to their bar afterwards, for a what will be a well-deserved drink.
All tools and equipment — gloves, litter-pickers, bags, hoops,
safety glasses, etc — will be provided.
You might also want to bring waterproofs in case of wet weather.
Come along and Make A DIFFerence!
