We also undertook a wide range of conservation and habitat management activities, including coppicing, hedge laying, clearing fallen trees, scrub clearance, Himalayan Balsam pulling, reed cutting, and removing Canadian Pennywort.
We have supported and worked with a variety of other groups, including Keep Grangetown Tidy (we supply all the kit for their events) and other Keep Cardiff Tidy Groups, Keep Wales Tidy (‘local places for nature’ builds), NuLife Furniture, Action For Careau and Ely, Cardiff Council Parks, Oasis, Tools For Self Reliance Cymru, Wenvoe Conservation Group, Woodlands Route To Wellbeing in Duffryn, Newport, The Road to Nature Project in Newport, Natural Resources Wales (removal of trees from rivers), Groundwork Wales (supporting river cleans).
And we were delighted to be able to make our first donations of £1,000 each to Cardiff Food Bank and FareShare.
We have, in turn, been supported in various ways by Pedal Power, nextbike, Cardiff Council Street Scene, Cardiff Council Parks Department, Wales & West Housing, Gallaghers Insurance Brokers, John Lewis Partnership, DS Smith Foundation, and EMR.
We were able to invest in a new truck thanks to the generosity of Wales & West Housing and Gallagher Insurance Brokers, plus numerous individual donations, for which immensely grateful. And we will soon have a Automated External Defibrillator (AED) installed in the truck thanks to the DS Smith Foundation.
Looking ahead, we will continue to undertake as many events as we can and recycle as much waste as possible. And we’ll continue work with other like-minded organisations across Cardiff to Make A Difference.
And there are hundreds of photos of CRG in action.
