Radyr Rubbish Removal
Tuesday, 16 April, 2019, 9:45 am – 12:00 pm
We’re going to remove the huge amount of rubbish that we collected at our event at Radyr back in February, which has been sitting next to the riverbank path since then — plus there’s now quite a bit of extra stuff that has been collected by the Masked Avenger and other individuals in the meantime.
We’ve kindly been given access to the car park at the grounds of Radyr Cricket Club & Corinthians AFC, so we’ll be meeting there at 09:45. (See map below.)
The scheduled finish time is the usual 12:00, but we will carry on after that if there’s still rubbish that needs to be taken off site, as this will be our only chance to do so. (But, of course, you need only stay as long as you wish.)
Removing the existing rubbish will be our priority. However, this is a section of the riverbank that does collect a huge amount of rubbish, so if numbers and time allow we will try to collect more, but we must ensure that we get it all off site on the day, for disposal by the council.
This is a multi-agency event, with Cardiff Rivers Group being joined by Natural Resources Wales, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, and Cardiff Council’s Park Rangers and Cleansing Department.
All tools and equipment — gloves, litter-pickers, bags, hoops,
safety glasses, etc — will be provided.
Please wear wellies, boots or stout shoes, and suitable ‘working’ clothing.
You might also want to bring waterproofs in case of wet weather.
Come along and Make A DIFFerence!
