Dr Who Beach (Cardiff Bay)
Saturday, 7 September, 9:45 am – 12:00 pm
On Saturday, 7th September, we’ll be returning to Dr Who Beach, in Cardiff Bay.
Meet outside the old Dr Who Experience (see map below).
We’ll be clearing up the horrendous amount of rubbish that washes-up on the shoreline and litter-picking the surrounding area.
Terracycle is once again accepting rigid beach plastics for recycling, so we’ll be separating those out on this event. (“Beach” plastics are any rigid plastics found along any shoreline — eg, rivers, beaches, bays, lakes. “Rigid” plastic is any plastic that you can’t tie in a knot.)
Unfortunately, the car park of the former Dr Who Experience is unavailable, as it’s being used by contractors beginning the demolition of the building.
There are pay-and-display car parks and on-road pay-and-display parking nearby, but we’d recommend cycling, walking or using public transport.
All tools and equipment — gloves, litter-pickers, bags, hoops,
safety glasses, hi-viz vests, life-jackets, etc — will be provided.
Please wear wellies, boots or stout shoes, and suitable ‘work’ clothing.
You might also want to bring waterproofs in case of wet weather and sunscreen in case of a sudden heatwave.
Come along and Make A DIFFerence!
