Rhymney Foreshore (Lamby Way)
Saturday, 12 October, 2019, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
We are returning to the foreshore at Lamby Way, at the mouth of the River Rhymney . Unfortunately, with all the recent rain washing stuff downstream, there is a lot of rubbish to collect.
Meet at 09:30 (rather than the usual 09:45) in the visitor/staff car park at Lamby Way Recycling Centre (go up the access road, past the slip-road up to where you take rubbish, and the car park is then on the right).
You will be given a hi-vis vest, asked to sign in, and shown the route to take.
The litter-picking site is a 15-20 minute walk across the land fill site (hence meeting at 9:30). Please be aware some parts are quite steep. Also, It’s likely to be wet/muddy so please wear appropriate footwear — boots or wellingtons rather than training shoes, and definitely not flip-flops or high heels.
We will be clearing the foreshore from 10 to 12, separating as much as we can for recycling. We will then use the truck and trailer to transport it all back to the recycling facility.
All equipment will be provided but please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
