Because of COVID-19 all events are cancelled until further notice.
We are postponing this event until a later date, as car parking on a weekday around there is a nightmare. We will try to reschedule it for a weekend, when parking should be easier.
We'll be making our annual visit to the wetland ponds at Forest Farm to help clear the reeds. The main activity will be to help manage the habitat of the ponds. This entails volunteers in waders getting into the water, pulling the reeds out (by their roots if possible), and putting them on the edge … Continue reading Forest Farm (Reed Clearing)
We are returning to the foreshore at Lamby Way, at the mouth of the River Rhymney . Unfortunately, with all the recent rain washing stuff downstream, there is a lot of rubbish to collect. Meet at 09:30 (rather than the usual 09:45) in the visitor/staff car park at Lamby Way Recycling Centre (go up … Continue reading Rhymney Foreshore (Lamby Way)
We will be returning to Llanishen Park to continue improving the ponds and woodland. (We were there three times earlier this year, at the end of February/beginning of March, but there's still more to do!) Those with waders please feel free to bring them along, as we will be getting into the water to remove … Continue reading Llanishen Park
On Sunday morning, 24 November, we'll be at Hamadryad Park. At our last couple of events there, back in December 2018 and January 2019, we cleared a huge amount of rubbish that had been washed down the Taff and trapped by the reeds. The areas we cleared then are now covered in reeds again, but are still pretty … Continue reading Hamadryad Park
GraWe will be tackling the Ely Trail, Grangemoor Park and the inlet off the River Ely in Grangetown. We will meet at 0945 in the small car park off the roundabout on Dunleavy Drive (see map below). Space is limited in the car park itself, but we will open the gate to the Ely Trail, … Continue reading Grangemoor Park (Ely inlet)
We'll be returning to Dr Who Beach, in Cardiff Bay for our Christmas Event! Should you wish to dress up, this year's theme is pantomime. We'll be clearing up the usual horrendous amount of rubbish that washes-up on the shoreline and litter-picking the surrounding area. Hopefully we'll be able to separate rigid beach plastics for … Continue reading Christmas Event! Dr Who Beach
