Cardiff Rivers Group (CRG) is a community voluntary action group that aims to visibly improve the cleanliness of the rivers, streams and lakes in Cardiff and surrounding areas, to help protect and enhance their biodiversity, and so that both residents and visitors to the area can enjoy them more.

Improving the habitat in and around the waterways of Cardiff also increases the diversity of wildlife and plants, adding to their attractiveness and importance.

In June 2015, Cardiff Rivers Group was honoured to have its work recognised by receiving the highest accolade possible — The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, which is regarded as “the MBE for volunteer groups”.

Just want to say thank you for clearing the brook on Heol y Waun. I knew there were kingfishers there but have been unable to see them. I live in Heol Cattwg so the kingfishers come past us as well. Thank you for making an old man happy.
